At the Epsom races to-day the folloifr ■ ing was the result of the Oaks Stakes, of 5000 eovs, for three-yew* old fillies, 9.0 each. About one mile and a half. Major Eustace. Soff— Maro .„ 2 Lord Falmou th's b f Fiancee, by St. Frusquin— Wise Virgin 3 The result of tkis race was a foregone conclusion. Pretty Polly ran nine tiinej as a two-year-old, winning every time, and defeating among others the winner | of Wednesday's Derby and of the Twa Thousand Guineas. Among other prizes she" placed to her owner's credit were tbs National Breeders' Stakes at Sandowa* woilh £4357, the Champagne Stakes at Doncttster. the Middle Park Plate, and other valuable races. This season she again proved her superiority by carrying oil the Ono Thousand Guineas at the Newmarket Spring Meeting, so that oh appearing fit and well at the' poisf yesterday it would be, in racing parlance, "Lombard-street to a China- orange" o» her success. Pretty Polly is entered itt seven or eight more events this'sawon, chiefly nt the Ascot, Goodwood, and Don. castor Meetings. At Doncaster she is en* gaged in the Parkhill Stakes, the Don. caster Stakes, and the Si. Leg«r, in which she will have to meet the first three horses in the Derby. The futui* career of this splendid filly will be watched with interest.
