That clause 40 of Uho Municipal Corporations Act, 190Q, bo repealed and the following substituted : — "The Council at its first ordinary meeting after the election of Mayor shall appoint one of its own members to the position of Depaty-Mayor, who in caso of illness or absence of the Mayor shall have full power to perform any act which the j Mayor, as such, might do, except aot as Justice of the Peace unless suoh deputy in himself a Justice."
