CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR CONVENTION.
The Christian Endeavour Convention was resumed this motniiig ir St. John's Church with a prayer meeting, in wllich many members took part. At 10.30 a Conference Mas held, the Presidont of the Union, Roy. Newman Hull, presiding. A fair number of leaders of societies and members of the Exteutivo were present. The Rev. Dr. Clark opened the Conference by telling of the Increase Campaign being held iv America, and suggested the aiming at a 10 por cent, increase of societies nnd members during tho next twelve months. A striking .feature of his address was the roferenco to tho woik of Christian Endeavour carried on in over '20 State Prisons in the United States, with a membership of some throe thousand persons. The question of junior work was fully gone into, and many testimonies given fls to tho way it helped Sunday-school work. The matter of the Syllabus of Societies was also discussed, and the need for systematic Biblo - leading emphasised. The following resolution was moved ty the R<?v. Oeorgo Bond, seconded by the Rev. J. Dawson : — "That this Conference recommends tho New Zealand Unior to use every effort to securo an increase of 10 per "cent, during the next twelve months, particularly in Junior Work ; and further recommends (he adoption ol tho International Syllabus by societies."
