At Iho feocial gathering held in the Druids' Hall la.st night in connection with tho Wellington Plasterers' Union items wero contributed by Me&daones Foley and Koi th wood, and Mr. J lull. The proceeds, amounting to about £20, will be handed over to the widow and famijy of a member of the union. Much interest was manifested by the many sailors pieseitt' at the "Ambulance Chat" «t tho Missions to Seamen last night, when practical demonstrations of tho work were given by Missioner and men. Phrasing rendering of songs, old and now, were given by tho Misses Harborow and Gieenwood, and Mesbrs. Cum- 1 mingu, Knowlcs, Naylor, Karlo, aud Colpus. Tho Garrison Band will play at the Basin Hoservo to-moirow afternoon. Included in tho piogramme will be several popular pieces, such as "The Lost Chord," a, selection from Donizetti's "La Favorita," etc. A collection will be made in ii id of tho Unifoim Fund. Tho South Wollington Choral Society will resume ita weekly practices next month. On Monduy a practice will bo held for vocalists, and on Thm-Mlay for insti'unientaluU.\ Intending now members aro invited, and if elected will be charged^ half the subscription fee only for the remainder of tho yeai-, ending 30th Juno next. Tho advantages of such a society for musical training of bollv kinds is well known. Two concerts are to bo given before 30th Juno next. I Tho Petono Bund is to play in the local Recreation Ground to-morrow aftvrnoon. Excellent rehearsals have been held by Iho Wellington Dramatic Students during the past week in preparation for the performances on Iho 15th nnd 16th February in aid of tho funds of St. Mary's Guild. Tho theatre-going public does not often have the privilege of seeing the students perform, but in thii . instance- the full strength of the Booiety has come to t)io foro to provide characters for tho five coinqdics chosen. There js a- considerable demand for tickets, and as tho season is | limited to two nights and accommodation likewise, those who wish to bo present should make certain of their scats by purchasing tickets early, ,
