At the last examination in connection with tho Wellington Sunday School Union ho won tho first prize in his class, and alw (ho special prize for the highest number of marks obtained by any of tho 431 candidates. A littlo later on he carried off tho prizo for the best essay by a boy on the Salvation Army's industrial exhibition in tho Skating Rink. Subsequently ho carried off one of the Board of Education scholarships, beating all othor competitors, and ho waa also .successful in winning a Queen's Hchohuship in connection with Victoria. College. In tho ialter exuminalion ho was at Iho top of the list for Wellington city. He has now capped all Ma recent successes by winning the National Scholarship.
