In addition to Mr. Frawfey and his leading lady, Miss Mary Van Buren, there are Miss Eva Denniaon, Miss Blanche Douglas, and Miss Christine Hill, Mr. J. R. Amory, Mr. Hap. riiigton Reynolds, Mr. Jeffrey Williams, Mr. Wallace Shaw, Mr. E. J. Conway, Mr. Clarence Tompkins, and Mr. Robert M'Greer. The lecturer treated his subject in tho form of a story, and described the wrodrous insects found in the ordinary pood, their mode of living, and their chiei characteristics, and illustrated his re« marks by means of photographs of the insects themselves. During tie evening an excellent musical programme was submitted. Songs were contributed by Misseu Lily White, Mary Twohill, May Sullivan, Rev. Father Moloney, and Mr. D. Twohill, and a duet by Misses White and Twohill. The Exchange Hall was well filled lasfc nfght when a numbei of boxing contests were held. The principal even,t of the evening was a bout between Charlen Brown-Parker and Tim Tracy, two local instructors. Tracy ted from the first round, though the second was very even, and in the third and fourth punished Brown-Parkei with body blows until th» latter went to the boards, and was content to remain there until counted out. Mr. Cloke was referee, and Mar. Martin Taylor held the watch. The final "social" of the season in connection with the Etnpiro City Athletics Club Quadrille Assembly was field in the Druids' Hall last evening. The arrange mentft were carried out by a strong com raittee, with Mr. F. H. Smyth as Hon. Secretary, The dance muulc was sun plied by Plntt's Band. Trinity Weeleyan Hchoolroom lost night vim crowded to exeefles. The ladies of tin Literary Society repeated the produc tlon of a "Women's Parliament, A.D.» 2006." Another of the series of lectures in connection with tho Wellington South PnbHe Library was given last night, whtn Dr Findlay dealt with the life nnd works of Oliver Wendell Holmes.- The lecturer handled Ids subject in a masterly m inner, and thfc audience expressed due appreciation.
