THE WAIHI REEFS. [BT TELEGRAPH — PRES3 ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, 22nd July. Information has been received that at the Waihi Grand Junction mine a borehole, which was being put down from a chamber at the 500 ft level, penetrated forty feet into a reef, and that the first assay gave an average result of £8 10s per ton. This development is of the Utmost importance, as it proves that the Waihi reef system is continued into the Grand Junction area below the lowest point hitherto worked in the latter com- , pany's property.
