PERSONAL MATTERS.
o The death of Captain James Spence, of Huanui, is announced in a Press Association message -■from Whangarei. His age was 84. A Press Association telegram from Masterton announces the death of Mrs. R. D. Dagg, an old resident of the town. Mrs. Dagg, whose age was 71, arrived at Wellington, in 1855, and went to Masterton the same yerr. Ths Rev. Dr. Gibb, who has accepted the call to St. John* Church, Wellington, arrived here from Dunedin this morning, but went on to Nelson with the members of his family for a few weeks' holiday before entering on his new duties. Miss. Curtis, daughter of Mr. J. J. Curtis, of Wellington, was married at St Paul's Pro-Cathedral at half-past 12 o'clock to-day, to Mr. Victor Waters, of Messrs. Levin and Co. There were five bridesmaids — Misses Laura and Ina Curtis, Miss Waters, and little Misses Jessie Hill and M'iri Oswin, while Mr. R. Wilson was best man and Mr. A. Williamson groomsman. The Rev. T. H.
