DIX'S GAIETY COMPANY.

The Theatre Royal was reopened on Saturday night by Mr. P. R. Dixs Company, and patrons showed their appreciation of the fact by "attending in strong numbers. Tie company is a very sound_ one ; there are about a dozen artists in it, and their abilities are much above mediocrity. Sam Rowley, and Joe Cowan helped to pass the evening very pleasantly. In addition, au interesting set of films were shown from a bioscope. The Willoughby-Geach Comedy Company opened with "The Wrong Mr Wright" at Christchurch on Saturday evening, and scored immensely with the laughable comedy. The Wellington season begins on the 24th inst. '• ' The Majeroni Dramatic Company arrived from the South yesterday, and went on this morning 'to Masterton. Aftemrards, a six night's season is to be played at Wanganui. The company will appear in Wellington when the Opera House is available. To-night the boxing tournament at the Choral Hall will take place. There are several special items in th» evening's programme announced elsewhere.
