INVERCARGILL, 15th Nov. Tho oats market is a trifle firmer, and parcels of "B" grade aro worth 2s lOd, f.o.b. The Agricultural Department has received tho following cable message from the Agent-General, dated London, 15th November: — "The mntton market is dull, prices unchanged. The lamb market is •weak. The average price to-day for New Zealand lamb (Canterbury brand), is 5 5-8 d; New Zealand lamb, other than Canterbury, s£d. Tho beef market is quiet. New Zealand hinds, 4gd; fores, 4d. Tie butter market is steady. Whakatane butter arrived in good condition. The price of butter to-day is 112s nominally. • The fcheese market is very firm. There is a good demand for cheese. The price of cheese to-day is 595. Light shipments of cheese are expected. Tlie hemp market is depressed. The price of Now Zealand hemp, "Good Pair Wellington" grade, on spot to-day is £32 per ton; December-February shipments, £29."
