OFFICIAL ADVICES.
The Marine Department received the following telegram from the Principal Lightkeeper at Cape Maria Van Diemen this morning : — "Sterling returned from search round the Three Kings yesterday. Saw no trace of missing boat or raft, und nothing visible of the Elingamite. She has left to continue thp search, 60 miles north-east of North Cape." Another telegram received this morning by the Marine Department states that Captain Reid, Superintendent of Mercantile Marine at Auckland, one of the survivors, is suffering from the effects of the exposure after the wreck, and will not be able to resume his duty for some time. He intends to go to Rotorua for the benefit of his health.
