His Excellency the Governor has accepted an invitation to open the rowing season in Wellington on Saturday, 27tn September, and it is also hoped that Lady Ranfurly will be well enough to attend. Very complete arrangements ore being made for this year's opening ceremony, which is to be on entirely neAV lines, and is to include a four-oared race open to representative crews from the Star, Wellington, Petone, and Horowhenua Clubs, which Bhould result in an interesting contest. . The committee of the Star Boating Club has posted a full list of both senior and junior races for the coming season, and is now receiving entries for the Senior Fouins, Junior Fours, and Novice Pairs, to close on 29th September, while the first heats are to be rowed on 18th October.
