PARIS TO NEW YORK OVERLAND.

Reuter's correspondent at Cape Nome, Alaska, writing on 27th Juno, says: — The members of tho Do Windt Paris to New' York expedition have arrived here, \having successfully accomplished the journey t.rom Paris overland via Siberia and Behring Strait. The journey from Irkutfck (tho terminus of the railway) to Yakutsk took three weeks, and was accomplished in three horse sleighs along tho frozen Lena After a week in Yakutsk the party proceeded for 600 milen to Verkhoyansk in reindeer sledges over most difficult passe*. One of the principal objects of tho expedition was to survey for a railway to Bchriug Strait, and the members of tho cocporlition stnto that, with tho exception of tho Verkhoyansk Mountains, there is no part of tho country tbiough which a railway could not bo constructed. After they lift Verkhoyansk groat hardships wore endured, the only meium of* bhelter -being pout houwN 200 miles apart. Eventually the expedition reached Nijni Kolyin»k, where they letirnt that tho last Russian who went there ten years ago was murdered, and that no one would proceed further through the Tchuktchi country. Despite tho warnings and discouragements received, the party M'eut on, aud three weeks later reached Sredni Kolymsk, accomplishing the journey of 300 miles in less than thiee weeks. Tho expedition then travelled for 400 miles clong the Siberian coast without seeing a living soul, and when they reached the shores of Behring Strait thoy hud only provisions left for a week on half rations. On reaching Capo Noith, thoy found tho natives to bo friendly, and, without further difficultiea on this score, the expedition safely arrived at East Capo, Behring Strait, on 21st May. Tho expedition was taken off tho Siberiau coast by tho American cutter ( Thetis, and landed on tho ice of Behring Strait on tho *American shore, four miles from Capo Prince of Wales. Thence the party proceeded by bkin boata, and landed on the American continent at 5.30 a.m. on 19th inst., exactly six months aftor leaving Paris.
