4, BRITISH POLITICS. THE CORN AND FLOUR DUTIES - CARRIED. OPPOSITION TO THE EDUCATION BILL. [PRESS iSaOOIATION.I LONDON, 23rd April. Members of the London Chamber of Commerce connected with the corn trade haVe resolved that the truo ratio of duty should be threepence per bushel on wheat, fournence on flour, and twopence on offals (or by-products of milling). The House of Commons has by 283 votes to 197, carried the corn and flour duties. The Chancellor of the Exchequer agreed to tho duty on offals being fixed at threepence. The Education Committee of tho British Wesleyan Conference by 49 votes to 23 Has adopted a resolution strenuously opposing the Kducation Bill. Tho Irish League in America has contributed a thousand pounds to the Irish Parliamentary fund. ', (Received April 24, 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, 23rd April.
