THE ALLANTON TRAGEDY.
[bx tklkoraph— pbess association.! DUNEDIN, 11th April. At the Police Court to-day, Hugh Sweeney was chaiged with the murder, at Allanton, on 24th March v of Annie Sinnott. It will be remembered tho remains of the woman were found among the dobris of lier burned cottage. The constable, on examination, found the prong of a carviug fork sticking in her heart. Some additional "witnesses were called, but the evidence differed in no material respect from that given at the inquest. Accused was committed for trial, the Magistrate declining the responsibility of granting bail.
