The dredgemabtcr of tho Ri&c and Shine reports that he is working a cut 70fb wide, and that fchould tho ground continue tho s*uno as at present, ho estimates that it will take butween three yews and four yearn to leach the spot where the line of bores was put down, and from which excellent prospects uera obtained. The Happy Valley dredge is now lit up with the electric light. The plant in simple aud comparatively inexpensive, and gives entire satisfaction. Tho dredgemaster of tho Meg and Annie reports that the wash has widened out to 50ft, averaging about Ism in depth. The gold *eems to ba about the same all through the wash. The' OlVig Company's dredge, at work on her claim gn the Mamjherikift Flat, about five miles above Alexandra, is operating ou a face 150 yards wide, aud the prospects are said to be equally good all the way across. As the ground is very tight it is hard to work, although few big stones are met. with. Unprospectcd ground adjoining has now a promising outlook. The Ohig Company has declared another Is dividend, und has increased the reserve fund to £300. Though Central Charlton's last return (15oz) is 4oz less than the preceding, tho dredgemaster anticipates an improvement as soon as he has worked right up to the shaft.
