Representatives of the Wellington, the Wesley, the Commercial Travellers, and the Working Men's Clubs were in attendance. The Working Men's- Club claimed exemption on the grounds that it employed neither cooks nor waiters } no meals were served ; and if members wanted liquid refreshment they hod to go it) the bar and get it. The Commercial Travellers' Club also represented that it employed no cooks, supplying oniy a counter luncheon. It was represented oti behalf of the union that very long hours were worked in 'those clubs tfliere waiters were in attendance. Hie President of the Court did not consider the work so arduous as that of waiters employed in hotels and restaurants. Mr. H. D. Ball suggested that if it was merely a question of hours Government' House among others might hftve to be considered on occasions, and most, certainly Bellamy's. The union re-, piesentatives, were understood \o indicate that Bellamy's would receive attention. The Court, in the end, struck dubs off the list or attached parties, but intimated that if the union considered it had a .strong case against them it might agaifl apply to have them attached. .St. Thomas's choir will give a performance of 0.
