PMfessoT Anderson, the Wizard of tho will give his opening performance at the Opera House on Wednesday next. There is always a big element of attraction in the mysterious and uncanny, and it is promised that the Wizard of the North and his accomplished associate will provide an abundance of wonderprovoking mystery. The gift distribution in conjunction with the entertainment is on al urge scale, and is, we are informed, left in tho hands of a committee of the audience as a guarantee of impartiality. - A miscellaneous concert in aid of the chou* arid organ funds of the Terrace • Congregational Church will be held on Friday evening next in the schoolroom, concluding with the famous trial scene "Bardell v. Pickwick." Much interest is being evinced in musical circles in the visit of Miss Lili Sharp and Mr.' Rafalewski, who are to give their first concert 'in the Opera House on Thursday evening. The notices of their Australian and Auckland performances are very complimentary, and a musical treat is promised. Miss Sharp is credited with having a voice superior to the much-boomed Miss Amy Castles, 'while M. Rafalewski's pianoforte and violin playing is highly praised. Mr. Williamson, a. Melbourne tenor, will assist at tho concerts. A "pinafore social" will be held in the Victoria Hall on Thursday evening. The 'first annual ' " social" of the Kilbirnie 'Residents' Cricket Club is to be held on' Friday evening at'Heginbotham's Hall. ' Mr. E. L. Burgess gave a recitation at tho Gaelic .Society's concert on Thursday night, appearing lit the place ot Mr. Mackintosh. Mr. J. Read ifc wad who recited "Mary Queen oi Scots."
