RUSSIAN ACQUISITION OF TERRITORY.
A RUSSO-CHINESE AGREEMENT. LONDON, 11th November. A Russo-Chinese agreement has been arranged at Livadia, the Tsar's marine residence in the Crimea, whereby Manchuria is placed under Russian protection. Commenting on Russia's reported 1 annexation of a slice of territory near Tientsin, The Times anticipates that any ambitious subordinate advancing pretensions which are flagrantly at variance with the declared policy of Russia would be promptly called to order.
