Tha siege of Koffyfautein was main^ tained-with persistence by the Boers for a month. Captain of the Kimberley Light Hor.se> was the only military man in the garrison, which consisted of fifty resolute minere. Captain Robertson, with, four .natives and two whites, made thrilling raids on farms, fighting desperately in the darkness. Losses were inflicted, intensifying the enemy's rage. Relief came opportunely.
