Russia announces by right of conquest the annexation of land opposite to, British and German concessions at Tientsin, including railway property and an arsenal. Lord Campbell's expedition has returned to Tientsin. Twenty-six vllages were burned, and the walls .destroyed at the town of Menan-hsien. M. Pichon, the French Minister .at Pekin, initiated the movement for the occupation of the tombs of the Emperors at Si-ling. Other French advices from Pekin state that this step is undoubtedly hastening a solution.
