GENERAL TELEGRAMS.
[PBESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, 9th November. The railway traffic this week has been very heavy, nearly thirty thousand persons having been booked from Christchurch. This total includes passengers for the racecourse and show grounds, [OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PAHIATUA, This Day. / The mounted corps put yesterday in at target-firing. Several fail- scores were made, though some of the men hau never fired before. A flagstaff has been erected in the centre of the town, and the unfurling of the flag will take place in a few'<iays.
