Horace, assisted by Vocalist and Dozon, went a mile and a quarter in 2min 18ssc, the former -going best. Severity "went a. mile and a Tialt on the lav in Zmin 46sec, which is much the best gallop this season. Maltst&r covered the same distance with Miltiades in 2min 52sec. The Derby favourite finished strongly. War God, with Sarawasti for the first mile, completed a mile and a half in 2mm 47sec. Barbarossa and Blue Metal went a mile and a half in 2min 47sec, assisted by Haulette. The Derby outsider shaped remarkably well. • Clean Sweep and La Carabine covered a mile and v half on the tan m 2min 52sec, Hautesse and Auld Lang Syne a mile in lmin 48£ sec, Contrast a mile in lmin 47sec, Dandy a similar distance in Imiu 49see. Fleet Admiral went a couple of miles on the tan. Lord Rudolph beat Ornament over .a mile in lmin 492 see. Shadow Catcher defeated' Leehohn over half a mile. Floradora, Altitude,and Dirk Hammerhancl finished in front of Borromeo, Tarquin, and Ndtrous at the end of a mile and a half. Fides beat Labourer over 6 furlongs in lmin 20£ sec, and Paul Pry did a mile and a quarter in 2min 15£ sec. Seahorse is reported as being in a very had way. fteveihio is the latest introduction into the Cup betting. The people of Blenheim are anxious to »how their gratification at the elevation of Mr, (J. H. Miilu to the Ministry, and have decided to entertain him at a "social" gathering. Tho Premier mul other membora of tho Government have also been invited. The date of the gathering ia to be fixed to suit the convenience of the Hon. Mr. Mills and his colleagues. It is also proponed to entertain the Hon.
