The next change of programme is to see the. appearance of Davy's amusing Marionettes, and Miss Ivy Foster, a serio-comio singer from Sydney. Mr. Emile Lazern, a wellknown W l ellingtonia,n, who nightly gives .a cjeyer juggling/. seance, is now stage manager for the company. / Last night Mr. Arthur Hahn. was in good voice, Little .Eileen Boyd' won repeated encores on each appearance, the graceful dancing of. the. Staunton Sisters was- a popular ".turn,"- Mr. Tom Leonard was the chief fun-maker, and the other members each contributed their share towards the programme. The fact that the Flying Jordans were to appear, in tfhe Choral Hall last night served to fill that building to overflowing long before eight o'clock. The Jordan^ have well earned- the prefix of "Flying" to their name. Last nigiit one Jordan flew repeatedly from a trapeze to the arms of another Jordan hanging by the legs from a second' trapeze, sending a thrill through the audience each time' she slipped through the space above their heads. Twice she fell into the net in attempting a most difficult trick. Little Venus, wire-walker, also appeared in the hall for the first time, and walked, ran, slid, turned and twisted high above the crowd' without a sign of nervousness. Sivoroni, comedian and dancer, was another "first nighter." His was an eccentric "turn," and that was all that coulll be claimed for it. The remainder of the people on the bill received flattering receptions.'' To-night the Jordans will fly again, and Little Venus and the whole company will repeat last night's performance. A fairly numerous audience witnessed the performance of the Federal Minstrels last night. The Roselle Trio had a good reception for their clever trapeze act, and Miss Madge Lucas was rewarded with a recall for her singing of "Hampton ' Court." Miss Maisie Edwards sang and danced in pleasing style, and Messrs. A. Lyndon, Harold Henry, and Joe Watts contributed to an excellent programme. Mr. P. R. Dix will vfsit the Old Country after Christmas for the purpose of , securing artists for his New Zealand companies. A bright, and entertaining programme of recitations, monologues, songs and drills is to be given by Mrs. Aueline Izett and pupils on Thursday evening, at the Syd-ney-street Schoolroom. The full programme is announced elsewhere. An entertainment was given at the | Sailors' Rest last evening, ti the proI gramme of which vocal and intrumental items were contributed by Miss George, Messrs. A. H. Medhurst, Buller, Leece, I Williams (s.s, Tokomaru), O'Connor, and Shepherd (s.s. Kumara), and step dances by Messrs^ M'Neu and Jennings (s.s. Tokomaru). Miss George played the accompaniments.
