SPEECH BY LORD HOPETOUN. [press association.] (Received September 14, 9.50 a.m.) j LONDON, 13th September. Lord Hopetoun, who has be^n appointed Governor-General of Australia, has entertained his tenantry prior to leaving to take up his office. In a speech he said that he contemplated with pride and satisfaction the great trust confided to him, and that he had the greatest affection for Australia.
