RAIL WAY ACCIDENT.
[UY TELEGKAPn — PRESS ASSOCIATION.^ AUCKLAND, This Day. A passenger train from Rotorua, which was going at the rate of 25 miles an hour, was derailed south of Mata Mata yesterday through the axle of the truck next the engine breaking. The whole tram with the exception of the engine left the line. Fortunately the accident occurred in a cutting, and the carriages m ere thrown against the banks/ The passengers were thrown from their beats, but none were seriously hurt. Five chains of permanent way were torn up. Repairs have been effected, and traffic has now been resumed.
Tenders are invited for a loan appropriation, and notice is given of another ballot appropriation to be made by the No. 2 Co-operative Building Society of Wellington. The Sunday 'bus service to-Worser Bay will ba discontinued until fnrthar notiaa.
