The White Star liner Delphic, which arrived at Auckland on Sunday morning from London via the usual way ports, has 3100 tons cargo on board. She took to tbe Cape the C9th Sussex, the 73rd Paget's Horse, and the Imperial Yeomanry for service al the front. The vessel called at St Helena to laud a number of bullocks, all of which were put ashore safely. At Capetown she di3charged a number of horses aud a quantity of stores for the Imperial Government. Except for rough seas and a severe gale at one period of tbe trip, the weather was line. A qnantity of explosives were brought to New Zealand. Captain Sowden is &till in charge, aud associated with him are the following :— Chief, Mr Hug; first, Mr Hiekson ; second, Mr Freeman ; third, Mr Hill ; fourth, Mr Western. Advices from New York intimate that the Tyser steamer Star of Victoria sailed from thut port for Australia, Auckland. East Coast, and Wellington on the 26th mst. The Indradevi, now in Australia, has 350 tons cargo for Wellington. News reached the Sydney underwriters nine days ago that the schooner Gleaner, which has visited this port on many occasions and is now employed in tbe timber trade in Australia, had gone ashore at Borley Point, where she was loading. No particulars were to hand when.the moil left. The vessel is a wooden schooner of 115 tons, and is owned by Sir F. G. Guy, of Sydney. While the Omapere has been on the Patent Slip Bhe baa been supplied with new rudder pintles, and a number of rivets' in the hull have been replaced. Another vessel has been added to the intercolonial fleet, Mr J. J. Craig, of Auckland, having purchased the iron barque Clan M'Leod, which for years past has been a regular trader between New York and Wellington and otlfer ports of tbe colony. Her new owner will run her in the Aus-tralian-New Zealand ti ode. Captain Champion, who is not unknpwn in local shipping circles, has been appointed to the command of the schooner yacht Norna, recently purchased by a Sydney gentleman ior the AncklitndNorfold Island-Noumea trade. She is to leave Auckland to-dny for Sydney to be fitted out for trading purposes. Heavy weather in the Tasman Sea was the experience of the suiling- fleet which put in an appearance las,t week.
