GENERAL BULLER'S ADVANCE IN NATAL.

HIS ARMY NEARING LADYSMITH. BOERS IN FULL RETREAT. RETURN OF~CASUALTIES. LONDON, 20th February. General Buller has telegraphed to the War Office that the enemy practically abandoned Colenso, and Major-General Hart's brigade occupied the town after but slight resistance. Bodies of the 'enemy have been seen in full retreat to the northward, and only a weak rearguard has beem left across the railway line leading to Ladysmith. At the time General Buller's despatch was cabled, Major-General Hart's advance guard was crossing the river at Colenso. 21st February. The rearguard of the Boers from Colenao is now half-way to Pieter's Station, its position being thus about tvielve miles south of Ladysmith. General Buller reports that the casualties among his troops from the 15th to tho 18th inst totalled 172, made up as follows: — Killed, one officer and thirteen men ; wounded, eight officers and 150 men.
