HOW TWO OFFICERS DIED. CAPETOWN, 13th January. Further details ofl he unsuccessful sortie made in an armoured train from Mnfeking on the 26th December show that Captain Vernon and Lieutenant, Pntton were killed whiKt firing their revolvers — with Mieir hands thrust througn the loopholes of the enemv'B fort.
