GENERAL HUNTER'S SUCCESSFUL SORTIE. CAPETOWN, 11th December. Further particulars of the sortie • from Lady«niLh made on Thursday last by the Natal Volunteers and Imperial Liffht Horse under Major-General Sir Archibald Hunter upon Lombard's Kop, the hill to the northeast of the town, show that when the troops were half way up the hill they encountered a hurried fusilade from the summit. The men, however, climbed on like lizards, cheering as they went. At the sight of the bayonets the enemy was seized with panic. The captured guns were wrecked with gun cotton.
