All lovers of sport will hear with regret tho now definite announcement that the team of English Rugby footballers at present in Australia, under tho manngomunt and captaincy of the ltov. M. De Costa, Secretary of the New Zealand Rugby Union, thereforo cabled at tho end of last week to the Secretary of tho New South Wales Union asking for a definite answer. To-day Mr. De Costa received a cablegram announcing that "tho Englishmen cannot get BiiHioient men for the tour." This is interpreted to mean that several of the playors havo to bo back in England within a staUid liino, and aro v nablo to (get their leave extended.
