THE COMPLAINT OF CUBA. STREET.

» Wo are glad to bo able to say that the complaint of Cuba-street about an insufficient tram service is to be fully mot by tho Tramway Company, as will be seen by perusal of tho following letter received oy Mr. Godbor to-day : — "Wellington City Tramways, 16th Juno, 1899. J. Godber, Esq.— Dear SirSince writing to you on tho 14th inst., we havo reconsidered tho wholo position, and Gnd that evon if wo had a new siding in Vivian-atrcet, we could not run all tho cars through to Newtown, so as to thoroughly meet your views. In order, therefore, to efficiently miwt^ all tho requirements of the enso, wo* havo decided to apply for a now siding at College-green, and another at Johnstreet. If theso arc granted by the Corporation, we propose to run all cars through to Newtown. This will meet all your requirements, and givo tho public a far better servico than they havo enjoyed. — I am, etc., yours faithfully, R. Petkrsen, Manager." Mr. Godber asks us to state £hat tho meeting called for Monday evening to consider further action by tho business men of Cuba-street will not now be hold, as the letter of tho company disposes, for the present, of the difficulty.
