ONSLOW BORQUGH COUNCIL. In Iho matter of ?arl IX. of the Municipal Oorporp tiona Act, 1886. WHEREAS the Council of the Borough of Ohhlow did, pursuant to the authority conferred by the Burgesses by a IJoll taken on tho !!7tli April, 1893, raise a Special Loan of £5000 for the works and purposes specified in tho proposal for -.he raising of such loan : And whereas tho said Loan has proved insufficient for those pui'poses # And whereas the said Council doHiros to raise a further sum of One Thousand Five Hundred Pounds for the purpose of completing the said works and purposes and to raise another sum of One Thousand Ono Hundred Pounds for certain further works and purposes (making in all Two Thousand Six Hundred Pounds) : And whereas the said Council proposes to raise tho wholo of the said sum of Two Thousand Six Hundred Pounds by One Special Loan : Now I hereby give notice that the Council of the Borough of Onslow proposes to borrow by way of Special Loan the sum if Two Thousand Six Hundred Pounds, and that Ono Thousand Five -Hundred Pounds thereof be applied to completing the works and purposes for which the said Loan of Five. Thousand Pounds was raised, which works and purposes are described in the first schedule hereto, and tho remaining One Thousand One Hundred Pounds be applied to the works and purposes described in the second schedule hereto, and that tho amount set opposite tho description of each such work or purpose in either schedule shall bo appropriated exclusively to the same work or purpose : And I further give notice that the said Council proposes to establish a Sinking Fund of Twenty-six Pounds per annum during the currency of the said Loan of Two Thousand Six Hundred Pounds for or towards repayment of such, Loan at its maturity, and to pledge an annually recurring Special Rate of Threesixteenths of a Penny in the Pound (capital basis) on all ratable property within the said Borough as security for the interest on such Loan and for providing such Sinking Fund, such Special Rate to bo made and struck (by special order) previously to the receipt by tho Corporation of any part of the loan money ; such Special Rate to be, and remain permanently and exclusively, appropriated to the purposes of such interest and sinking fund. THE FIEST SCHEDULE. 1. To complete the Formation and Metalling of New Eoad from Kaiwarra to Khandallah by way of Crofton, being item 11 on proposal for Five Thousand Loan ... £600 2. To complete the works at Wadestown described in itoms 1 to 7 (both inclusive) in proposal for Five Thousand Loan — namely: (1) Widening, improving, and defining the Main Road, Wadestown, from City boundary to the Blackbridge ; (2) improving the present road from the Blackbridge, Wadestown, io the junction of the proposed new road to Crofton and Khandallah ; (3) draining Hanover-street, forming and kerbing footpaths, and improving road as far as Mr. Douthwaite's property ; (4) forming and metalling Elizabeth - street and forming footpaths upper and lower ?arts ; (5) forming and metalling Jpper Pitt-street, forming and kerbing footpath in Lower Pittstreet, forming and metalling road and forming footpath in Fernhill* terrace ; (6) forming, metalling, and improving Wade - street from George-street junction of Eliza-beth-street ; (7) bricking or concreting springs at Wadestown for watering-places £200 3. To complete laying sewer along Kaiwarra Stream, also on Main Hutfc Eoad and Old Porirua Eoad, m Kaiwarra, being item 8 on former proposal £400 4.
