WEATHEK FORECAST FOB 24 HOUES FROM 9 a.m. TO-DAY. Wind— Decreasing from between west and south-west and south at all places, but changing to between north-east and north and west at places southward of Napier and Wangauui after from 10 to 20 hour* Barometer — Further rise everywhere, but falling at all places south of Napier and New Plymouth after from 10 to 20 hours Ska— lncreasing on western and moderating on eastern coast Tides— Generally good BYNOPBIS OF LAST 24 HOURS. Steadily rising barometer everywhere, the increase of pressure being fully half an inch in the southern half of the North Island. Strong westerly winds have been prevalent, and .there has been a heavy southerly gale on the coast between Port Chalmers and Napier with a very heavy sea. E. A. EDWIN.
