Abraham <fc Williams, report as to yesterday's Jolrasonville stock sales as follows :— A howling southerly gale made things very unpleasant at our Johnsonville sale to>day. Owing to the floods, both cattle and sheep were short of the advertised numbers, and of the former a larger proportion of cows than usual was yarded. Sheep mainly consisted of medium ewes, no good wethers or lambs being yarded. Ox beef was steady throughout the sale, at 15s to 16s per 1001b for prime, and 14s to 15s for medium. Maiden heifers brought 13s to 14s; cows, 12a 6d to 13a ; prime bullocks, .£6 2s 6d to £7 per head ; medium ditto, .£4 17a 6d to £5 12s 6d ; maiden heifers, ,£3 10s to .£4 10s ; cows, £3 5s to £4s 15s. Sheep — Best ewes realised 7s 2d to 7s 7d ; others, 6s 4d to 6s lid ; small wethers, 8s 8d to 8s 9d ; forward ewes, 4s 2d to 5s 8d ; lambs. 7s 4d. Extra prime porkers, 29a 6d ; sows in pig, 33a 6d.
