A VETERAN ACTRESS.
In November Mrs. Keeley celebrated her 93rd birthday. At her home in Pel-ham-crescent she received the congratulations of a considerable gathering of intimate friends, Avho brought suitable offerings of flowers and numerous tokens of aff-jctionate remembrance. In excellent ' health and spirits, she warmly welcomed a crowd of visitors, reserving an ample store of physical and mental energy for a select supper party Avhich took place last night. "The grand old lady" is having a race of it neck and neck with James Doel, of the Prince George Hotel, Stonehouse, who is incontestably the oldest actor living. In March 13, 1898, he Avas 95 ! " Have you ever met Mrs. Keeley ?" a friend once asked the slim and dapper Jimmy Doel. "Ot course i have," the old gentleman said. " She is just two years younger than I am, and she Avas one of the cleverest and brightest actresses I have ever met." And so say all of us! One of the most interesting presents offered to Mrs. Keeley on Tuesday (says the Daily Telegraph) was a silver souvenir by Mr. Ashby Sterry, in Avhich was inserted a typical coin of every reign in which Mrs. Keeley has lived, from. Georgian to Victorian.
