Havvkes Bay was concluded in the Recreation Ground to-day, resulting in a win for the local team by an innings and 20 runs. "Wiingauui in its first innings made a fairly good stand, compiling 223, favoured by an excellent wicket. Being still 160 runs behind the total of 383, the visitors had to follow ou. They did nob fare so well in their second, effort, which closed for 141. The following are the scores :—: — Wanganui first innings— J. M. Marshall, 26; K. H. Cave, 17; Shields, 29; L. P. Cave, 16 ; Barlow, 7 ; H. B. Cave, not out, 35 ; Meldrum, 4 ; Tompkins, 3 ; Barclay, 3 ; Boyes, 59 ; extras, 12 ; total, 223. Hallamore took five wickets for 51 ; Gore, two for 36. Wauqanui second innings— J. M. Marshall, 50; Shannon, 11; Boyes, 26; L. P. Cave, 0; Tompkins, 3; H. B. Cave, 0; K. H. Cave, 13 ; Shields, 0 ; Barlow, 5 ; Barclay, 10 ; Meldrum, not out, 12 ; extras, 17 ; total, 141. Hawke took four wickets for 11 ; Marshall, three for 24 ; Hughes, two for 15. The Junior Cup match, Old Boys v. Midland A, was finished last night, the Midlanders winning by three wickets. The winners, who had lost three wickets for 43, and still required 41 runs, made a bad start, three more wickets falling for only 10 runs. The remaining 31 runs were knocked off with the loss of another wicket. R. Davis 20, H. Davis 12, and Carswell 10, were the chief scorers..
