T^EW ZEALAND RAILWAYS. TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS FOR NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS. TE ARO-WOODVILLE LINE. On SATURDAY, 31st December, 1898, Special Trains will be run as under :—: — For MASTERTON.— Te Aro dep. 8.0 a.m., Wellington 8.15, Ngahauranga 8.27, Petone, 8.39, Lower Hutt 8.48, Upper Hutt 9.34, Greytown arr. 12.6 p.m., Masterton arr. 12.48 p. m. For TE ARO.— Masterton dep. 5.20 p.m., Greytown 6.0, Wellington arr. 10.21, Te Aro arr. 10.32. For EKETAHUNA.— Masterton dep. 9.30 p.m., Eketahuna arr. 10.40 p.m. For MASTERTON.— Ekelahuna dep. 11.0 p.m., Masterton arr. l<J»sp.m. The train which usually leaves Masterton at 9.20 p.m. on Saturday will be delayed until 10.0 p.m., and will run to Woodville. Tho 11.5 p.m. train from Te Aro will run to Upper Hutt. On SATURDAY, 31st December, 1898, Holiday Excursion Tickets, outward or return, to Featherston, Greytown, Masterton, and intermediate stations, or from Masterton, Greytown, Featherston, and intermediate stations, to stations south thereof, will NOT BE AVAILABLE for Mail Trains. On this day the ' North Mail Train will Not Stop at Flag Stations between Lower Hutt and Masterton, except to pick up passengers for north of Masterton, and the South Mail Train will Not Stop at Flag Stations between Masterton and Wellington except to set down passengers from stations north of Masterton. On MONDAY. 2nd Jan., 1899, the Ordinary Time-table will be SUSPENDED, with the exception of the Mail Trains Te Aro to Napier and Napier to Te Aro, the Morning Train Masterton to Te Aro, and the Afternoon Train Te Aro to Masterton, which will run as usual. Other trains will run as under : — For MASTERTON — Woodville depart 7.0 a.m. and 7 p.m. Masterton arrive 9.35 a.m. and 9.40 p.m. For, FEATHERSTON— WoodviIIe depart 7.0 a.m., Masterton 9.40 a.m. and 5.45 p.m., Greytown, 10.22 a.m. and 6.26 p.m.. Featherston arrive 10.48 a.m. and 6.56 p.m. For WELLINGTON— Masterton depart 5.45 p.m., Greytown 6.26, Upper Hutt depart 7.45, 11.45 a.m., 4.45, 6.10, and 9.40 p.m.. Lower Hutt depart 7.9, 8.0, 8.40, 9.54, 11.13 a.m., 12.25, 1.45, 2.45, 3.54, 5.3, 5.41, 6.10, 7.5, 9.15, and 10.27 p.m. Petone 5 minutes later than from Lower Hufcfc. For WOODVlLLE— Featherston depart 5.45 p.m., Greytown 5.45 p.m., Masterton 7.0 a.m. and 7.5 p.m., Woodville arrive 9.40 a.m. and 9.45 p.m. For MASTERTON— Te Aro depart 7.53 a.m., Wellington depart 8.5 (this train will not stop between Wellington and Kaitoke, except to pick up passengers for Kaitoke or north thereof), Kaitoke depart 10.0 a.m., Greytown arrive 11.48, Masterton arrive 12.36 p.m. For UPPER HUTT-Te Aro depart 9.0. 10.15 a.m., 1.18 and 8.15 p.m. ; Wellington depart 9.15 and 10.30 a.m., 1.28 and 8.25 p.m. For LOWER HUTT— Te Aro depart 8.37, 9.0, 9.50, 10.15, 11.5 a.m., 12.20, 1.18, 2.40, 5.0, 6.5, 7.5, 8.15, and 11.5 p.m. ; Wellington depart 8.47, 9.15, 10.0, 10.30, and 11.19 a.m., 12.30, 1.28, 2.50, 5.10, 6.15, 7.13, 8.25, and 11.15 p.m. Note. — On MONDAY, 2nd January, 1899, Holiday Excursion Tickets, outward or return, from Te Aro, Upper Hutt, and intermediate stations — to Featherston, Greytown, Masterton, and intermediate stations, also those from Masterton, Greytown, Featherston, and intermediate stations — to stations south thereof, will not be available by through mail trains. The Hibernian Society having decided to hold their Picnic at LOWER HUTT, the arrangements previously notified in handbills and advertisements (regarding both trains and fares) are hereby cancelled and the following substituted :—: — On 2nd January, 1899, tickets to Lower Hutt (second class only), available for use on day of issue only, will be obtainable from Te Aro, Wellington, and Kaiwarra. Fares (including admission to ground) — Adults, 2s ; Children under 15 years of age, 6d. Train leaves Te Aro at 9.50 a.m., Wellington at 10 a.m., and returns leaving Lower Hutt at 6.10 p.m. BY ORDER.
