THE POLLARD OPERA SEASON. "THE GAY PARISIENNE " TO-NIGHT.
" The Pollards " arrived from Palmerston by the mid-day train, and will introduce the musical comedy " The Gay Parisienne " tonight. A large number of seats have already been booked, and the nine nights' season promises to be a highly successful one. For the benefit of those who wish to
avoid the crush at the doors day sale tickets can be secured at the stalls entrance of the Opera House from 10 to 1 and 2 till 6. "The Gay Parisienne" has been described as "a combination of the best points of comic opera, burlasque, and farce," and was composed for laughing purposes only, and the Australian critics were singularly unanimous in declaring that it was the wittiest, brightest, merriest, and maddest musical comedy ever placed before any audience, and that to avoid laughing one would have to be deaf, dumb, and blind. " The Gay Parisienne " can only be played for a few nights, and will be followed by another laughing success in " The French Maid." ___
