Metropolitan Handicap, of 400 soys ; one mile aud a half.— Goldleaf, Boreas, Tirant d'Eau, Scotia, Black and Red, Pitch and Toss, St. Cyr, Fulmen, Coeur de Lion, Daunt, Target, Nanseu, Heritas, Peerage, Amphion, Douglas, Starshot, Epaulet, St. Paul, Haria, Chasseur, Daystar, Sequin, Glenelg, Double Event.
The report sent by the Press Association Agent at Hawera that the protest against Sir Athol in the Final Steeplechase at the Egmont Meeting was not sustained was incorrect. Sir Athol was disqualified for jumping the wiug of a hurdle instead of the obstacle itself, and the race was awarded to the second horse, Bradshaw. The dividend on Bradshaw was £2 Is.
