RIFLE SHOOTING.
CITY RIFLES. The opening 6f the City Rifles' shooting season took place on Saturday. Seven shots were allowed at each range. The following were the principal scores in the competition for class trophies :—: —
* Ammunition prize. Teams match for Captain Duthie's trophy. — Halpin's team, 164 ; Jackson's team, 145 ; Davis's team, 141. A competition for a special prize presented by Mr. Daniels to the junior shots took place at the same time, and was won by Pvt. Hastings, a promising young shot, with a score of 52 points.
