A QUEEN AND HER CHINA.

Now that tho Senate and the Chamber has adjourned, the K>ng and Queen of Italy will soon leave Rome for tho North, going first to Turin. King Humbeit will subsequently proceed to the Val d'Aosta to hunt, and Quoon Margheriia will #o to Grossoney. It is believed (says the Rome correspondent of the Morning Post) that their Majesties will not take up their residence at Monza aa long as the state of siege exists, but that after it has been abolished they will return to their usual summer residence. The departure of the Court from Rome generally takes place at very short notice, and often the Queen has little warning of tlie intended journey. There is then a great commotion in the Palace. The Queen allows no one to pack her valuable china but horself, and on a certain occasion one of the ladies of the Court, unaware of the impending departure, found, on visiting the Quirinal, Queen Margherita in a large white apron busily packing up her choice porcelain. The visitor expressed surprise, whereon Her Majesty answered: 'Oh, I have just heard that we are to leave to-night for Monza. lamin a dreadful hurry, because I must paok up all this china.' This little . incident reveals once more the artistic temperament of the Queen of Italy, who will allow no one to touch her valuable bibelots lest some haTm should come to them. Her Majesty seems to be convinced of the truth of the saying : 'If you want a thinjg done well, do it yourself.'
