HARMS TON'S CIRCUS.

Harmston s Circus, the fame of which has been widespread in the Australias for ths past few months, is about to make its descent on Wellington, and Col. Hicks and his advance brigade have already illuminated the hoardings with posters which whet the appetites of old and young in the way that the promise of a good circus always does. An old Wellington favourite, Mr. Bob Love, is now manager, returning to the a\ty after 14 years' absence. The members of the company he is bringing with him are reported to be all artists whose abilities ha^e been warmly praised by the Australian press. For the past seven 3 r ears the company has been on tour through India, China, Japan, Java, and Bur-man, with its head-quarters at Singapore, and it arrived in Melbourne last December. Having now beeu through the Australian colonies it will come on to Wellington by the Monowai from S} r dney direct, and the opening has been fixed for Saturday evening next, on the old Exhibition site. The menagerie is made a great feature of the show, containing as it does a rare collection of wild animals, aud among them the now famous Bengal tiger Duke (said to be the only performing tiger in captivity), a den of performing leopards and panthers, a large Burmese elephant, a stud of Arabian horses, and the wonderful Java ponies, Bantam aud Midget. There are in the company Japanese acrobats, aerial performers, three lady riders, ten lady gymnasts, a number of funny clowns, and four daring equestrians. One point about which the management promise specialities is the attention to the comfort of visitors, which is claimed to revolutionise tlae appointments of caravans of the kind. The' season will be a short one.
