Wind— Strong from between west and southwest and soutji ut nil places northward of Thames and Manukau ; gale from same direction from thence southward, changing! after 16 hours to between north-east and north and west * Barometer— Eise everywhere, but falling again after 16 hours at all places southward of Hokitika and Lyttelton Ska — Heavy on western coast Tides— High ou western coast, 1 good on enst coast south, of Bast Cape ; low from thence north- , ward SYNOPSIS OF LAST 21 HODKS There was a further decrease of pressure everywhere until about midnight, and since then it has risen steadily at all places southward of Napier and New Plymouth. There have been heavy gnl«s from the northward in parts of the country south of Napier and -Wanganui, and strong northerly winds, with rain, from thence northward.
