PBy Neptune.] W. Fife^jun., of Fairlie, N. 8., is the designer most sought after by colonial yachtsmen when they decide on having an up-to-date British boat. Mr. Fife has already completed two boats for tbe coming season in Australian waters. One, an out-and-out racer, is for Mr. F. N. Clarke, of Hobarfc. The second design is for a larger boat, or what is known as a 36-footer at Home (about the-sizetof one of our 5 -raters, with more sarlspread)), but it iB not known for whom the plans are being prepared. As in the case of the Tasmanian boat, the houwork is being, 1 ina^e at FairHe, and will bo seat out with 'the plans. The plans for Hie Tifmanion craft have already arrived, •iud the builders are at work on them jat Jnohes' yard at Hobart. The Clyde correspondent of the Yaciatsman says that the boat will be of a. v^ry extreme type. She is to be 21ft on the wafcerjine and 49ft over alj, while she^wil^have lift beam.
