OUR DEFENCE FORCES,
Tho f Cycle Corps, attired in their new uniforms :ind with the lamps on their machines alight, marched through the principal streets in company with the Guards last nitjhl, and headed by the Garrison .Hand. Afterwards a Morris-tube match was lired, a team under Serpt. Fountain beating one under Seryt. Herbert by 84 points. Fi fly-one of the Wellington Guards paraded last - night for Gowrmnent inspection, under Captain Duthie. After inspection the corps marched out/
and subsequently it practised the advanced and rearguard formations and also section drill. After parade the Shooting Coimnitfoe met, and arrangements were made- to begin tho shooting season towards the end of October. The corps also decided to enter for the Sargood Cup. The acceptance of the resignation of the commission held by F. B. Muir as lieutenant of the Wellington Volunteer Cycle Corps is gazetted.
