TO-DAY'S PARLIAMENT. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
The Premier announced that he hoped to bring in the Aid to Public Works and Land Settlement Bill during the day. Mr. Pirani asked the Colonial Secretary whether he intends to grant totalizator licenses to racing clubs which license bookmakers. The Colonial Secretary stated that, on behalf of the public generally, he was keeping a vigilant eye on racing clubs and racing •generally. He did not want to interfere too closely with the workipg of racing clubs, but in this matter he was closely matching the trend of events. (Left sitting.)
