Wind— Heavy pale soon from between northwest and west and south-west at all places eastward of East Cape. Taupo, and Napier ; heavy gnle soon from between north -east and north and west, at all other places to the northward of Lyttelton and Holritika; strong northerly winds, changing to gale, from between west and south-west and south at all other places after from six to ten hours Barometer — Further fall everywhere, but rising- at all places southward of Lyttelton and Hokitika after 10 hours Ska — Very heavy on nil western coast; heavy on east coast north of East Cape and south of papier Tidhs — High on all western coast, and on east coast south of Napier ; good elsewhere SYNOPSIS V^ LAST 2t tlOllltS Northward of Blenheim aud Nelson pressure has inureased very slowly, but. it has decreased steadily everywhere else. Moderate westerly winds have been prevalent northward of Napier and Now Plymouth, aud v strong northerly winds from thence to Lytteltou aud Hokitilia, but Ihere was a heavy northerly gale at most other places during the night. Heavy warm rain has fallen on the high country in Otajjo R. A. EDWIN
