The little friction which occurred in connection with the recent- annual election of the Committee of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club has become a tiring of the past. A meeting ot the members oC the dnb who were averse to the Committee resigning was held in the Trocadero last night— Mr. Otto Schwartz in the chair— and was largely attended. The announcement wan nv.uk' i hat the section of the club which had hon\ anxious 1o bring about the relireiiK nfc of the Committee was willing to arrive at a compromise, aud after discussion it was agreed to patch matters up by allowing the Commodore (Mr. G. Mcc) and the Vice-Commodore (Mr. A. 11. Turnbull) to select some one to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. Page, jun. Great satisfaction was expressed at the termination of the difficulty. Quite a number of clever people are combining to-night to give a, benefit to Jfr. Fitzgerald, who stage-mannged the recent diggers' carnival, and who has frequently assisted at local functions. All engaged are working gratuitously. One novelty will be taking a flashlight photograph of the audience, another the ventriloquial sketch, and there will also be good items by various other performers. The hall should be filled. Messrs.
