Messrs. A. G. Tame and Co. report on thoir lioi-ae salo of Saturday as follows :—: — Tho entry of horses was snnili, but a very largo number of traps was offered. Wo sold privately and by auction it first-class draught mare, six years old, at .830; a six-year-old harness geidu>g; at .£ls ; traps at .£5 10s, £4, and £2 ss, &o ; and .saddles and bridles up to £2 2s Gd. We shall havo a good lino of draught horsos to offer in about a fortnight's time, also a very largo line of hurncss horses. Full particulars and catalogues will bo ready oarly. Messrs. Hornblow &, Co. auctioneers, report : — Wo held a fairly successful sale of horses and vehicles at tlio Nag"s Head yards on Saturday. Amongst tho entries Avero an imported lot of heavy draughts, which wero superior to anything* offered in the city for some lime. The attendance of buyers was much better than usual, but tho bidding lacked spirit. Wo quote : — Heavy draughts, X 22 to £29 10s ; half and medium do, .£l2 5s to £\\) 10a ; light harness and pood hacks, .£7 10s to .£l7 : crocks and weeds, .£1 to -62 ss. We Rold several sets of harness, and one vehicle, at satisfactory prices. Messrs. Abraham and Williams report on their Palmerston North salo of Thursday : — Sheep were in excess of advertised numbers. There was a good attendance, and an agreeable change in the bidding* Avas experienced. Ewes in lamb and good hoggets advanced in value from Is Gd to 2s per head, and we disposed of nearly every pen offered under the hammer. Very few cattle came forward, and those consisted principally of dairy stock. Thero was a good demand for reliable coavs close to profit, but backward sorts Avero neglected. The beef entered did not soil. Quotations : — Sheep — Fat wethers, 12s 5d ; fat sheep, 10s lOd ; fat oavos, i>s ; forward wethers, 9s 8d to 10s 5d ; 2-tooth do, 8s 7d ; Lincoln ewes, in lamb, 10s ; others, 4s 7d to 6s : culls, 2s 9d ; store ewes, 5s 4d to 6s Id ; Avoolly hoggets, 7s 3d to 7s 6d ; short do, 4a 6d to 6s 4d ; cull 2-tooth, 3s. CattleSpringers, £5 to £6 ; cows in calf, £2 5s ; mixed yearlings, £1.
